Dirty linen in Times Square...

One of the filthiest hotels in the nation (and the nastiest in NYC) is in Times Square. Not a record to be proud of, but no great surprise. So please never stay in Times Square unless you want to get ripped off! Also on the prog, the nonsense of the Grammy awards, what Groundhog Day is all about (and how the Mayor was more prepared this year), apps for iparking in Manhattan, less cabbie chat, and how Elvis has got a haircut in Brooklyn...

New tracks from Portishead, Laura Veirs, Delorentos, Gorillaz, Goldfrapp, and another Haiti fundraiser track...

On air and streamed online Saturday at 6.10pm HK time (that's 5.10am NY time), and archived online immediately afterwards. Playlists and more archive details in the NC:NY Programme Info section!

Snow in Central Park

The weekend of 19 December saw the first big snowfalls in the city. Around 10 inches fell in Central Park and it looked wonderful. I went out to trample through the fluffy stuff with my camera that Sunday afternoon... click on the pic below to see the whole set of images on Facebook. (You don't have to have a Facebook profile to view them.)

  Facebook me!

Can I be your friend? Yeah baby, Facebook me!

Live on Morning Brew!

Every week I have a chat with Phil Whelan on Morning Brew just after 12 noon (HK time) on a Friday lunchtime on RTHK Radio 3 in Hong Kong. What's on? What do we talk about? Who knows - as it's all live, and it's all topical.

Thanks!

Particular thanks to Rob from www.soundbaker.com for creating and mixing the brilliant ripped up, cranked out version of the 'Star Spangled Banner' that I use at the start of the programme each week! Also to Sean from Gunslingers for website graphics and web guidance, plus to all of the guests I have interviewed for their time and trouble!
